在2022年的研討會中，大會探討各校編纂校史的行政執行、檔案徵集及保存管理、內容書寫，以及群眾的共同歷史記憶，由此衍生校史與機構史的多重考量，因此訂定理論、案例、應用等三種研討子題。

2024年第二屆校史書寫工作坊，以「百花齊放的校史」為標題，聚焦於時間與空間遞嬗下，各校的誕生、沿革與發展。在時間上，大致分為三種類型──戰前設置並擁有日本時期沿革誌紀錄者、戰後設置或在臺復校者，以及非前兩者情形之新設立大學。在空間上，如同成大作為臺南人文與城市發展研究重心，本館亦結合藏品研究與地緣特色，從2024年「臺南400」與2025年「府城300」，納入周邊學校共同討論城牆與校園的關係。

本次研討會依循「百花齊放的校史」工作坊焦點，並擴大範圍，徵求相關研討子題如下：

歷史的詮釋：各校與各機構如何應對沿革、重組、合併、變動等議題

從檔案與物件出發：各校與各機構如何整理、研究、管理與應用

在地意義與社會責任：地點的設置往往有許多考量，各校與各機構如何與在地產生連結、如何融入地方、如何在當代肩負責任、如何回應社會議題

成大校史共筆：與成大相關之校史事件紀錄、研究、發想與應用（一篇文章、一部小說、一齣舞臺劇、一部紀錄片、一系列節目……，若對成大校史的呈現有任何新奇的點子或企劃，都歡迎投稿）

In the 2022 seminar, the discussions focused on the practical aspects of university history compilation, including administrative processes, archival collection and preservation, content development, and the formation of shared historical memories within the university communities. These discussions revealed the multiple dimensions involved in university and institutional history, leading to the establishment of three main sub-themes for the seminar: theory, case studies, and applications.

The second Workshop on University History Writing in 2024, titled “The Flourishing of University Histories,” centered on the birth, evolution, and development of universities across different times and spaces. Temporally, universities in Taiwan generally fall into three categories: Universities established before World War II, with historical records from the Japanese colonial period; Universities established after the war or re-established in Taiwan; Newly established universities that do not belong to the first two categories.

Spatially, much like NCKU’s role as a key center for cultural and urban studies in Tainan, the NCKU Museum has integrated collection-based research with local geographical characteristics. In 2024, coinciding with Tainan 400, and looking forward to 300 Years: Walls of Tainan in 2025, the workshop invited neighboring schools to collectively explore the historical relationship between city walls and campuses.

Following the focus of the “A Flourishing Diversity of University Histories” workshop, this seminar will broaden its scope and welcome papers addressing the following topics:

Historical Interpretation: How universities and institutions respond to changes such as reorganization, mergers, restructuring, and institutional evolution.

Archives and Material-Based Approaches: How universities and institutions organize, research, manage, and apply archives and collections.

Local Significance and Social Responsibility: How universities and institutions select their locations, establish connections with local communities, integrate into regional contexts, shoulder contemporary social responsibilities, and respond to current societal issues.

Collaborative University History Writing──Our NCKU: This theme invites creative contributions related to NCKU’s university history—be it in the form of articles, novels, stage plays, documentaries, or program series. We welcome innovative ideas or projects that offer new perspectives or ways of presenting NCKU’s university history.
