Thesis Proposal Presentation
Each student is required to write a thesis proposal, and to report on scheduled date. The Master’s Thesis proposal presentation is open to public. Presenter’s advisors, all graduate students and interested faculty are encouraged to attend.
Timing
1. Students must apply the thesis proposal presentation by the 2nd semester of the first year.
2. Presentation Month: Around June. (Two sequential Fri. afternoons or an all-day Saturday)
3. Students who only study for one semester and plan to apply for the Proposal Presentation should be approved by Institute meeting.
Process
1. Student has to submit application form in the first week of May.
2. The completed proposal e-file (PDF.) must be submitted to the ICM office at least 1 month prior to the presentation.
Format and Content of the Proposal
1. Title in English(Specific description of Master’s Thesis)
2. Student’s name (Inst.) /Advisor’s name:
3. Background (Maximum 250 words)
4. Specific Aims (Item description)
5. Significance (Maximum 100 words)
6. Preliminary Results (as needed, Maximum 150 words)
7. Research Design and Methods (list description by specific aims, Maximum 350 words)
8. Anticipated Results (According to specific aims, Maximum 150 words)
9. Alternative Approaches (Maximum 150 words)
10. References (List the sources that were used to develop the Master’s Thesis proposal)
