The Micro Aerial Robotic Systems Laboratory (MARSlab) was established in August 2022 by Prof. Woei-Leong Chan when he assumed his position at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) following his appointment at Temasek Laboratories, National University of Singapore (NUS). The lab aims to advance micro aerial robotics in areas such as positioning, flight efficiency, and flight autonomy. Current research focuses on the bio-inspired design and development of micro air vehicles, as well as their applications for a sustainable society. In 2025, the laboratory was renamed the Micro Aerial Robotics and Satellite Systems Laboratory to reflect its expanded interest in CubeSat systems research, while retaining the acronym MARSlab.
