本課程將探討十六世紀至今，漢學、中國研究、臺灣研究的歷史發展及其制度化過程。學生將研究這些領域的演變，重點關注塑造其軌跡的關鍵人物、地點和文本。本課程將深入理解東亞與歐洲之間的跨文化交流、傳教士語言學的影響，以及在不同歷史背景下學術學科的發展。透過本課程，學生將掌握瞭解漢學、中國研究和臺灣研究在歐洲背景下的學術和歷史脈絡，並培養適用於這些領域的批判性思維和研究技能。 

This course explores the historical development and institutionalization of Sinology, China Studies, and Taiwan Studies from the 16th century to the present. Students will examine the evolution of these fields, focusing on key figures, locations, and texts that have shaped their trajectories. The course will provide an in-depth understanding of the intercultural exchanges between East Asia and Europe, the impact of missionary linguistics, and the development of scholarly disciplines in different historical contexts. By completing this course, students will equip with a comprehensive understanding of the academic and historical contexts of Sinology, China Studies, and Taiwan Studies in European contexts, fostering critical thinking and research skills applicable to these fields.
