【TSRI Lab Tour】

The Taiwan Semiconductor Research Institute (TSRI) under the National Applied Research Laboratories (NARLabs) is a consolidation of the National Chip Implementation Center (CIC) and National Nano Device Laboratories (NDL). An integrated research environment for related fields of study in Taiwan is urgently required to enhance the overall cultivation of quality talents in response to the introduction of the 3-nm node; rapid development of new applications. In so doing, it aims to provide a comprehensive range of verification services for semiconductor devices, circuits, and system integration and create an open information and service platform for semiconductor industry.

【Cultural Tour】Session 1

Taipei 101

The Taipei 101 is the tallest building in Taiwan, standing at a height of 509 meters. It was the tallest building in the world from 2004 to 2010 and is now the 11th tallest building in the world as of 2023. Located in the finest district Taipei has to offer, TAIPEI 101 is the largest engineering project ever in the history of the Taiwan construction business.  It stands as an icon and symbol of Taiwan's economic prosperity and may be the most recognizable building in Taiwan.

Hsing-Tian Temple

Hsing-Tian Temple is a temple that follows Taoist practices. Although heavily based on Taoist teachings, many rituals and practices at Hsing Tian Kong are distinct from Taoist temple traditions. In fact, it became the first temple to ban the burning of incense in 2014, encouraging other temples to decrease or eliminate incense burning to protect the environment.  The large crowds of believers that gather for this ritual clearly demonstrate not only the temple’s role as a religious center for local citizens, but also the religious enthusiasm found among modern city dwellers.

THE PIER-2 ART CENTER

It was once an abandoned and forgotten warehouse buried in history due to the move from an industrial based segment to the service sector. However, with a group of persistent artist who injected waves of creativity and inspiration into the area, the Pier-2 area was released and re-born making the region a place where tourist and locals can come together to enjoy fine art. With the collision of an old area and new fine art, Pier-2 becomes an area of new vitality and liveliness.

Hongmaokang Cultural Park

Situated by the entrance to Kaohsiung Port 2, the original towers have been combined with the surrounding environmental resources, with a total area of 3.42 ha. Images of villages and creative curation methods are used to show that the people of Hongmaokang lived here, and the Five Great Cultural Characteristics they have accumulated over the generations. Although Hongmaokang Village has since passed into history as a result of being moved, the life and spirit if the people of Hongmaokang is a truly eternal memorial to the village.
