Unit Planning

Pacing with Prerequisites .webm
Unit/Lesson Planning

Watch this video for guidance on how to consider prerequisites and standards when pacing your unit/lessons for this year. The goal is grade level content, with scaffolds when needed, to make forward progress.

Other things to support your planning:

  • Watch the Unit Flow and Progression Video for your next unit. This will give you background on how the standards and concepts are working together. They can be found in the beginning of unit resources in your iReady Teacher Toolbox.

  • This video (https://oel.i-ready.com/mod/url/view.php?id=783 - you'll have to login to iReady to access) is very helpful to understand flexibility when planning with Ready.

  • As explained in the initial video, take time to look at your prerequisite reports, yearly pacing for prerequisites, and the regular pacing guidance for the year. Use these to inform decisions you make about whole group lessons. Use basic planning template if you like, but feel free to use whatever works best for you.
