Final summary on the project by Green Team

Jack

This project has helped me to see the vulnerable side of our city, in the moment of the disaster. But more importantly, it helped me to see our strong side. Our city came together to organize, contribute, and heal, as one great community. When all seemed lost for many residents, hundreds of volunteers reached out to help. In this project, I worked on interviewing and surveying residents and those who played a role in the recovery and emergency efforts. Hearing and learning about their roles from their perspective really helped me to process the disaster.

The Lawrence Made project has helped demonstrate the unity in the Lawrence community and highlighted the resilience of the city that was shown after the gas disaster that greatly affected the residents of the city as a whole.

This project summarizes what Lawrence is and the people in it, strong. Many statistics about the community, do not demonstrate the majority of goodness that goes on around here. This project and the outcome of it made me very proud because there was so many people willing to help us and were not afraid to share their stories with us. Without them none of this would've been possible so thank you!

The Lawrence Made project has represented our community in such an amazing way. I was able to see how our community came together to give strength and provide help to those who needed it due to his disaster. I learned that even though a our community does not always come to terms with many events, we do come together when we've lost so much and I believe Lawrence has shown a sense of loyalty through that.

The Lawrence Made project has helped me learn more about the gas disaster as a whole and it has helped remind me of the strength in Lawrence, MA. After finishing this project, I am filled with an extreme sense of pride for this city and I hope that others will also feel this pride while going through this website.

I was at the school when explosions started happening, so it was really worrying to see everything unfolding. It looked very chaotic, with the helicopters hovering above us the ambulances rushing down the street as well as the fire trucks. This project gives us all a sense of what that change felt like and the process our city went through which is why I think this is such an amazing project. And it gives other people a different perspective of what our city is really like.
