Assistant junior dean
Food Technology - Primary, Year 9, Year 10
Hospitaltity Studies - Year 11, Year 12
Kia ora koutou,
My name is Ms. Leandra Venter, and I am very excited to share a little bit about myself and my whānau with you.
I was born and raised in Kriel, Mpumalanga in South Africa, and in 2024 my whānau made the big move to beautiful Aotearoa, New Zealand. My husband, Hercules, and our two daughters, Simone-Leja and Chloe-Ann, chose Greymouth as our new home. We feel very blessed to now call this special place home.
At Grey High School, I teach Primary Food Technology, Year 9 and 10 Food Technology, as well as Level 1 and 2 Hospitality Studies. I also have the privilege of serving as the Junior Support Dean this year. It is a role that allows me to support our ākonga not only in the classroom, but also in their wider school journey.
Teaching is my passion. I love helping students grow their confidence, creativity, and practical skills in the kitchen. I believe learning should be hands-on, engaging, and meaningful — where students can learn, create, and share their success.
I am truly grateful to be part of the Grey High School whānau and look forward to an exciting future together. Ngā mihi nui
