This unit looks at how genetic variation influences a specific characteristic in living things.
In this standard, you’ll explore how differences in DNA and inheritance patterns lead to variation, and how this relates to the expression of an identified trait (for example, eye colour, blood type, or coat colour in animals).
You will also consider the biological processes that cause variation, such as mutation, meiosis, and sexual reproduction, and explain how these processes affect the characteristic being studied.
