Through a series of hands on projects students will explore the possibilities of using the Sustainable Development Goals to design a solution for a particular goal to suit their community. These could range from a game to educate, aerial drone photography for the school website, 3D models for a school model with an environmental focus, a drone specifically designed for supermarket or farming use or a business product for the elderly. This will include research, planning in scrums, following a two week scrum and a presentation of your idea to your stakeholder that you have identified.
This assessment activity requires you to develop a proposal for using the Sustainable Development Goals to design a solution for a particular goal to suit your community. You can also use this for your game or project.
Managing Your Document
You are going to be assessed on how effective your proposal is in meeting the project requirements for the landing page ( make a copy of the Google Doc)
You may work with others to help generate ideas and develop those ideas. However, you will be expected to show your own thinking and evidence of how you discussed and combined ideas together to write and submit your own proposal document.
Develop a proposed digital technologies outcome statement which defines:
1. clearly what the problem and/or issue is ( from sustainable development goals)
2. the purpose of the digital technologies outcome (including desired goals and objectives)
3. the context in which the digital technologies outcome is to be developed ( Greymouth High School Level 3 are designing a Game Station for the Digital Lab)
4. end users who will benefit from your proposal ( Students in Digital Technologies )
5. the scope of the outcome (how the requirements of the project will be able to be delivered in the established timeframe).
Analyse and organise your information and relevant perspectives (members, stakeholders, media etc.) and how these may or do impact on the focus of your inquiry.
Learning Objectives: Students will identify their stakeholders and design their digital outcome to have a positive outcome based on the user experience.
Success Criteria: I can identify who my stakeholders are going to be and how I can get my message to them. I can identify and design my Google Survey to capture the user stories of my stakeholders. I can identify the platform and programming language which will have the most impact for my game. I can design a blurb for my game and a promotional poster.
