Term TWO
This term, students will be introduced to our new PE unit 'Culture & Sport' where we will learn a variety of tikanga Māori games, and continue to develop our PE routines, GHS ARCH values and Key Competency Skills of the NZ curriculum towards building ownership over their learning and PE leadership & cooperation skills. Term TWO
This term, students students will investigate and develop an understanding for sexuality education in identifying healthy & unhealthy relationships, contraception, rights & responsibilities, STI's, consent, conception, diversity and explain health enhancing decisions for inclusion, and acceptance in promoting safety for self and others wellbeing. Term One
Students explore the Key Competencies at the start of the year through ABL (Adventure Based Learning) activities to promote cooperative and collaborative skills. Students are encouraged to work with their class mates to complete tasks and games with the aim of developing trust, understanding and cooperation within their class. Students may also explore new athletic events in preparation for Athletics on the 4th March.
Term One
Students are introduced to the concept of Hauora and spend time exploring the four concepts of well-being and the impacts on their own well-being. Students are given a workbook that will be used for activities and reflection during class time. Further content can be explored on the student workspace, Hāpara.
