In health and physical education, the focus is on the well-being of the students themselves, of other people, and of society through learning in health-related and movement contexts.
Health, PE and Sport Department 2025
At GHS all students are expected to participate in all learning activities to the best of their ability. This starts with the expectation that students bring a full change of clothes to every PE lesson so that students are not participating in practical lessons in their school uniform. Students are encouraged to bring a change of clothing they are able to move comfortably in and that is appropriate for the weather. Students are given the time and space to change at the start and end of the lesson.
If students are unable to participate practically in a lesson due to illness or injury, we understand that taking part at their usual capacity may not be realistic. Therefore, we encourage to participate practically where they can, and when this is not feasible, students will take on alternative roles such as that of officiator, umpire/referee, score-keeper or equipment manager. Please send a note with your child if they are unable to participate at all.
If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact your child's PE teacher. Please navigate to the class specific page for your child's mentor class.
