Term One
Students are introduced to Hellison's model of Social Responsibility at the start of the year through ABL (Adventure Based Learning) activities to promote cooperative and collaborative skills. Students are encouraged to work with their class mates to complete tasks and games with the aim of developing trust, understanding and cooperation within their class. Students may also explore new athletic events in preparation for Athletics on the 4th March. Students will continue to consider Hellison's model throughout the term and will begin to reflect on and evaluate their own participation and progress.
Term One
The focus of lessons in the first term is Anatomy. In Health, students will develop their knowledge and understanding of the skeletal and muscular systems and how they produce movement for sports performance. This unit is particularly important for anyone considering PE in Year 11 and beyond.
