About Me

Cindy Watson, who are you?

First, I am part of a wonderful family! My husband and I have three handsome sons, three beautiful daughters-in-law, and three precious granddaughters. We did the boy thing first time around, loved it, and now we are delighted to do the girl thing!

We lived in Pickens County (Six Mile) for 14 years. During that time I taught fourth grade at A.R. Lewis Elementary and Six Mile Elementary. We then lived in the Tampa Bay area in Florida for five years. I taught third grade in Hillsborough County for one year and gifted fifth grade students in Pinellas County (where I received my endorsement in gifted education) for four years at a full time gifted magnet center. We moved to Greenville in August of 2011 where I've taught fifth and fourth grade since then. My husband was in ministry for 37 years.

I love the outdoors, hiking, and swimming. My husband and I like to spend time on the Blue Ridge Parkway looking for elk. I also love to read. Baking is fun for me, too. However, now that I don't have three boys at home to eat what I bake, I try to limit my baking!

After being a stay at home mom for fourteen years while my sons were young, I graduated from college on the day of my twenty first wedding anniversary! Since then I have enjoyed teaching children in South Carolina and Florida. I am so happy to be part of the Buena Vista team!

My Educational Philosophy

As a teacher, I feel it is very important to model respect, kindness, responsibility, and high expectations for my students each day. I strive to help all of them grow in knowledge and skill in each subject area. Most importantly, I want to help my students love learning! I consider it a privilege to work with your child as together we help him/her prepare for the future. You and I are a team that has the best interests of your child in mind. I look forward to working with you this year!
