Math Options:
Math 7 is the standard level math course that most 7th graders will be placed into.
Math 7/8 that a student would take if they are already in Math 6/7 or if they receive a teacher recommendation.
English Options:
English 7 is the standard level math course that most 7th graders will be placed into.
English Studies 7 GT is an advanced English course for students classified as Gifted & Talented.
Science 7 is the science course that all of our 7th graders will take.
Social Studies 7 is the social studies course that all of our 7th graders will take.
Year Long Related Arts Options:
Strings: This course is a continuation of Strings 6 for violin, viola, cello, and string bass. Intermediate-level middle school music literature will be studied.
Band: This course is a continuation of Band 6 for brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments. Intermediate-level middle school music literature will be studied.
Chorus: The study of music written for soprano, alto, & baritone voices. Students will perform in various school & community settings.
Semester Long Related Arts Options:
PE/Health 7th: Required each year. Course content areas include personal health & wellness, nutritional choices, mental health, preventing injuries, family living, and tobacco, and other drugs.
General Music: Provides students with the opportunity to explore musical concepts and further understanding of music through listening, singing, playing instruments and other creative activities.
Art: Students will explore and produce artwork including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, arts, & crafts.
GTT APP Creators: This course introduces students to the field of computer science and the concepts of computational thinking, through the creation of mobile apps. Students are challenged to be creative and innovative, as they collaboratively design and develop mobile solutions to engaging, authentic problems. The problem can address issues such as health and wellness, the environment, school culture, emergency preparedness, education, community service - the options are endless!
STEAM Lab: In STEAM Lab, students create hands-on and digital-based projects. Students will learn basic architectural design, interior design, and the design and development of prototypes. 7th graders will have the opportunity to participate in STEAM shop on Fridays where they will learn how to use a cruitic machine. Projects will include murals, financing fundraisers, as well as designing and producing t-shirts.
AgEducation: This course assists students in exploring science as it relates to agriculture. Students will have the opportunity to develop an understanding of human relations, communication, the importance of agriculture to the economy, and key scientific terms related to the field of agriculture concepts.
