Complete this Google Form to share helpful student models and/or resources related to your content area writing assignments. This assistance will allow us to build an archive of helpful resources, as well as assist our Peer Tutors in personalizing students' tutoring sessions!
Promoting the WHWC as an additional resource for your class helps draw connections for students between all content learning and writing.
Promoting a visit to the writing center as an incentive can help encourage our students; but more importantly, it incentivizes them to work ahead and give their best effort on your writing assignment.
Major grade or project coming due? As part of their expectations, have students be required to set up a tutoring session for revision work on a portion of their project! Visits are verified and recorded by our Peer Tutors and Writing Center Director via online reports as documentation for you, as well as a Peer Tutor Report of session details!
Complete the form at the top of this page to provide important assignment details, rubrics, and student models that the WHWC can keep on file for tutors to help ensure your students are meeting your expectations!
When nomination time comes each Spring semester, recommend your best writers and/or leaders to apply to be a WHWC Peer Tutor. It's important we have a cohort of students that carry a diverse representation of writing experiences and backgrounds in all content areas!
Spread the word about our starting services to help us fill up our tutoring sessions and promote a healthy growth mindset toward the writing process in all content areas!
Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons, feel free to stop by and see how your students are working with tutors on your assignment, and to offer your expertise to our Peer Tutors in any area.
Collaborate and coordinate with our Writing Center Director, Chelsea Bergmann, to present or provide professional development opportunities or ideas to our growing Peer Tutors.
We know writing is a process, so even adults need help sometimes! Book your own appointment for revision help with something you are writing yourself, such as an application for a grant, a rubric for a new project, or presentation for your students!
