Greetings! My name is Chrissy Welmaker, and I am honored to serve as your Sports Medicine teacher this year. This is my third year at Riverside High School, and I am excited to continue being part of the Riverside community. As a native of Greenville, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to educate, encourage, and support our students. I am passionate about helping students discover their potential and achieve their goals. My personal philosophy is to be a positive influence and leave a lasting impression wherever I go. I hope to create a classroom environment where students feel supported, challenged, and excited to learn.

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Psychology from Lander University Honors College and my Master of Science degree in Athletic Training from the University of South Carolina. My professional and clinical experiences include working with JL Mann High School, Furman University, the Boston Red Sox Organization, Carolina Gamecock Football, Carolina Band and Dance, and River Bluff High School.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy staying involved in the Riverside community. I help advise both the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). I also have a variety of personal interests, including musical theater, Spartan Races, and Crossfit. Fun fact about me is that I was a college cheerleader and powerlifter! I am also a proud aunt to two nephews and a dog mom to my pup, Pixie.
