Ms. Dechant

I am excited to be at Welcome again this year. I have taught for 28 years, and this is my  eighteenth year at Welcome. I have taught K-4, K-5, 1st, 3rd, 4th, and  5th grades, reading intervention for 2nd - 4th grades, computer, and challenge. This will be my 12th year teaching 1st grade. 

I became a teacher in 1987 after graduating from Bob Jones University with a degree in Elementary Education. I received my Master’s from Lesley University in the area of educational technology in November 2010. In addition, I have taken more than 30 hours of graduate work from USC, Clemson, and Converse. I am certified in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. 

I am highly qualified in the areas of early childhood, elementary education, and have a master's degree in educational technology.

I love sharing the gift of learning with all children, and I strive to make learning enjoyable and rewarding.
