My name is Melissa Clark and I am one of the speech-language pathologists at Washington Center. I started college at the College of Charleston, but quickly realized that I wanted to study speech pathology. I transferred and then graduated from Columbia College with a B.A. in Speech Language Pathology. I went on to earn a Masters of Speech Pathology in 2002 from University of South Carolina. Prior to joining Washington Center in 2011, I worked in the Upstate at the former Medically Fragile Children’s Program, the Meyer Center and did early intervention in homes. From 2016 to 2021 I worked in different Elementary, Middle and High Schools in Greenville County School District. I am dedicated to helping students find their voice and learn to advocate for themselves using alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) supports. When I am not working, I enjoy running, traveling, and spending time with my two children, my cats (Emmit and Muffin) as well as friends and family.
