Hello, and welcome! My name is Ms. Villamil, and I am excited to be your 8th-grade science teacher.
I graduated from Wofford College in 2025 with a degree in Environmental Studies. Originally, I am from northern New Jersey, but after moving to South Carolina to attend Wofford College, I knew I wanted to stay. I love the beautiful scenery, the sense of community, and the opportunity to share my passion for science with students here.
Ever since I was little, I have been fascinated by the world around me. I have always been the kind of person who asks questions, looks for patterns, and wonders how things work. That sense of curiosity eventually led me to pursue science, and now I have the opportunity to share that passion with my students every day.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time outdoors, horseback riding, painting, reading, and exploring new places. Some of my favorite moments are the simple ones, being outside, noticing the world around me, and learning something new.

I believe that science is everywhere. It can be found in the changing seasons, the stars in the night sky, the food we eat, the technology we use, and the countless questions we ask every day. My goal is to help students realize that science is much more than a subject they study in school; it is a way of thinking, exploring, and understanding the world.
I want my classroom to be a place where students feel comfortable taking risks, making mistakes, asking questions, and growing as learners. I believe in maintaining high expectations while providing plenty of support, encouragement, and opportunities for students to succeed.
Above all, I want my students to remain curious. I hope they leave my classroom with more questions than answers because curiosity is often where the most meaningful learning begins.
Curiosity lives here. Wonder grows here.
