Coach Watson

Dear Eastside Community, 

This is my 15th year at Eastside and my 25th year working for Greenville County Schools.  I actually attended Eastside myself and graduated in 1994 - Go Eagles! After high school, I attended Furman University where I received a B.A. in English with a Secondary Teaching Certificate added. Right after college graduation, I taught English at Wade Hampton High School for 8 years as well as coached Varsity basketball and Varsity swimming. During these years, I finished my Master's degree in Secondary English at Furman. I married Stewart in 2002, and then we started a family. We now have two boys -- William (sophomore at The Citadel) and Jay (senior at Eastside). I returned to Eastside in 2011 to teach English and continued in the classroom until December 2025. With the start of 2026, I began a new chapter here as the Testing Coordinator. I am excited for the challenge of a new position and look forward to serving our community in this new capacity.

I have also been coaching the Varsity Swim team here for the last 15 years and still love to swim myself whenever I have time. For my "free time," I enjoy exercising, time at the lake, and attending my boys' activities and events. With one at The Citadel, our family also enjoys traveling to Charleston to visit and watch him! Life is busy, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
