Dear Parents & Students:

Welcome to Eastside High School! I am very excited about this school year and the goals that I have set for the students and for myself.  This is my 13th year teaching at Eastside and my 22nd year teaching in Greenville County.  I am thrilled to be a part of the Eastside family (again! -- I am an alumna!). I am looking forward to working with you to ensure a rewarding year for your student.  I sincerely hope that you and I can actively work together to make your student’s experience in my class an opportunity for growth and learning.  Click here to view a short slideshow about this year (make sure you are using a Greenville county login/ chromebook):

Bio:

I have lived in Greenville since I was in the 5th grade. I attended Eastside and graduated in 1994 - Go Eagles! After high school, I attended Furman University where I received a B.A. in English with an add-on Secondary Teaching Certificate. Right after college graduation, I taught English at Wade Hampton High School for 7 years as well as coached Varsity basketball and Varsity swimming. During these years, I finished my Master's degree in Secondary English at Furman. I married Stewart in 2002, and then we started a family! We now have two boys -- William (12th grader at Eastside) and Jay (10th grader at Eastside). While the boys were young, I took a few years off to be a full-time mom to them. Once I decided to return to the classroom, I was thrilled to receive this position in English at my Alma Mater. I returned to Eastside in 2011 and plan to stay here until I retire! I love this community of families.

I have been coaching the Varsity Swim team for the last 12 years and still love to swim myself whenever I have time. For my "free time," I enjoy exercising, time at the lake, and attending my boys' activities and events. Life is busy, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
