Happy Fall Ya'll
Summer temperatures have stretched out this year into October, but fall is here. The leaves will be turning and dropping off soon, but let’s not see the same for our volunteers! We really need our parents and community to step up in their support of Riverside High. Thank you to those who have already joined the PTSA. Thank you to those Friends of Riverside businesses who have sponsored our organization. Thank you to the volunteers who are serving up food and drinks to our students in the School Store. As we move into October, there will continue to be opportunities to get involved, especially in partnering with Student Council in their efforts to raise funds for Defenders for Children during Spirit Week. See more information on how to volunteer or donate items in our Volunteer sections below. If you can’t donate your time or resources, please consider a monetary donation. Check out our Spirit Week web page for details on how to donate. And please continue to watch for other opportunities to volunteer and help out!
The RHS School Store located in the lunchroom offers a variety of snacks and drinks, so it is super popular among the students. The store is open for all lunch periods. We have a new menu. Please come volunteer with us!!!…and SIGN UP today. Grab a friend and consider a recurring time slot each week/month OR meet new people and sign up on whatever random days work with your schedule. It's easy and it's fun :) Training is provided on Mondays, or contact Kristen Vaughn for another day. We are open and need volunteers daily from 11:50-2:20. And new this year - the store will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45-4:15pm (when volunteers are available) to serve our students in after-school activities. Contact Kristen if you have availability to work a Tues/Thurs afternoon shift. Thank you for serving our students!
Student Council Spirit Week Needs
Spirit Week is October 23-30 and is Student Council’s biggest event of the year to raise money for Defenders for Children. It is never too early to start planning and they will need tons of our help and support. Please review these needs and consider donating your time or resources.
Sadie's Dance is scheduled for 10/25. They need donations and set up/break down help.
Spirit Week Supplies/Groceries are needed throughout the entire week.
Spirit Week Volunteers are needed to pick up items and help out at events
In celebration of National Arts in Education Week, RHS PTSA is launching its annual Reflections Contest. Does your student enjoy art, music and dance or have an interest in writing, producing films or taking photos? Then join us in encouraging your student to have fun unleashing their inner artist with PTA Reflections! This year’s theme, “What My Culture Means to Me” calls for their unique interpretation through the arts. Students will enjoy rewards ($50 for 1st Place!) and recognition for their effort, and their judged entry may be selected as a winner at the school, district, state, or national level. Check out the Reflections information on our PTSA website or contact Kristen Belflower for more information. Entries are due in January.
