The Riverside High School Future Teachers Academy visited Clemson University on Friday. The students visited the College of Education where they learned about scholarships, pathways to teacher certification, and life as a Clemson education major. They also participated in a campus-wide scavenger hunt.
All State Chorus - Congratulations to the following Riverside High School students as they were accepted into the All-State Choir. They will travel to Winthrop University in February to sing with other students from across the State of South Carolina: Makenna Beesley, Melaina Dickinson, Mackenzie Kilbride, Layla Kirksey, Sofia Penaflor and Brianna Ramirez.
The Riverside High School Pride of Riverside Marching Band is traveling to London, England this Winter Break. The band is performing in the annual New Year's Day Parade in London. The band's trip hit the news this week with stories published on numerous media outlets.
Prisma Health in partnership with Apprenticeship Carolina, Greenville Technical College, and Greenville County Schools have created an apprenticeship model for students enrolled in a Greenville County School District high school. Youth apprentice high school students dually enrolled at Greenville Technical College and their high schools are simultaneously employed PRN (as needed), by Prisma Health in the role of Nursing Support Apprentice. By the end of their apprenticeship at Prisma Health, students will have achieved (1) all prerequisite courses for the nursing career pathway, (2) approximately 27 college credits (about 3 semesters paid for) and (3) future opportunities for employment. To participate in this youth apprenticeship program, students must be 16 years old by July 1, 2025 and a rising junior.
