Prisma Health in partnership with Apprenticeship Carolina, Greenville Technical College, and Greenville County Schools have created an apprenticeship model for students enrolled in a Greenville County School District high school. Youth apprentice high school students dually enrolled at Greenville Technical College and their high schools are simultaneously employed PRN (as needed), by Prisma Health in the role of Nursing Support Apprentice. By the end of their apprenticeship at Prisma Health, students will have achieved (1) all prerequisite courses for the nursing career pathway, (2) approximately 27 college credits (about 3 semesters paid for) and (3) future opportunities for employment. To participate in this youth apprenticeship program, students must be 16 years old by July 1, 2025 and a rising junior.
