Congratulations to the Riverside High School Indoor Percussion Team as it took 1st Place with the highest score at CWEA Pickens.
Congratulations to the Riverside High School Speech and Debate Team for winning the 2025 National Speech and Debate Association District Qualifier Tournament for South Carolina. The contest was held Saturday in Asheville, NC, in conjunction with North Carolina’s district series. The Warriors won the Overall Sweepstakes Award, Speech Championship, and Congressional Debate Championship. Riverside event champions include Treesa Abraham in Original Oratory, Artem Feno in Congressional Debate: House, Isabella Murillo in International Extemporaneous Speaking, Dante Rementeria in Program Oral Interpretation, Sash Sivaraman in Informative Speaking, and the team of Sreekar Bodepudi and Zachary Thies in Public Forum Debate. Valeria de la Llave was a double champion, winning both Dramatic Interpretation and Humorous Interpretation.
Nineteen students earned qualifying bids to represent South Carolina at the National Speech and Debate Association (NSDA) Tournament, held June 15th—20th in Des Moines, IA. This tournament is the largest academic competition in the world.
