Attendance Rules for GCS
Students are permitted ten absences for the year, regardless of reason or classification, to remain in compliance with SC Attendance regulations.
Parents are to send in a note within 3 days of an absence stating the reason for and date of the absence.
Electronic Device Policy
Electronic Device Policy
The South Carolina Legislature enacted a requirement that school districts adopt a policy that prohibits access to personal electronic devices by students during the school day.
Students cell phones are prohibited between 7:15 and 2:45pm
Student personal electronic devices must be turned off during the school day and must be stored in student bookbags.
Smart watches are considered a “personal electronic device” therefore are not permitted
Student consequences
Step 1: teacher warning
Step 2: parent phone call
Step 3: admin support
Beginning September 8, 2025
Families are welcome to join their students during lunchtime.
Our lunchtime is 11:05-11:30
All visitors must have a form of identification (driver's license, government-issued ID, etc.).
Visitors and their students will sit at the designated round tables in the cafeteria.
Please remember that no outside fast food/restaurant-style food may be consumed in the cafeteria.
