What Do Elementary School Counselors Do?

Elementary school counselors help support students in their academic, social-emotional, and future career growth. Our goal is to create a safe, caring environment where every child feels valued, supported, and ready to succeed.

We support students in several ways:

Classroom Lessons – Students participate in monthly lessons that focus on important life skills such as empathy, problem-solving, friendship skills, emotional regulation, study habits, perseverance, and responsible decision-making.

Small Groups – Small group counseling provides extra support for students with similar needs or experiences, including friendship skills, coping with stress or anxiety, handling family changes, building confidence, and improving social skills.

Individual Counseling – Counselors may meet one-on-one with students to help them work through challenges that could impact their learning, behavior, or emotional well-being.

Collaboration – We partner with families, teachers, administrators, and community agencies to provide the best possible support for students.

If you feel your child may benefit from additional support, please reach out to us. We are here to help!
