Study multiplication facts / XtraMath

What we are studying this week?

Math - We are working dividing using different strategies: area model, distributive property, partial quotient, and the algorithm.  Students should know their multiplication facts. If your child does not, please get some flashcards and work on them at home.

Reading- We are completing our informational text module and will be working on a PSA project.   Students should be reading for 20 minutes, or more, every night. The more you read the better reader you are. An incentive to learn the love of reading is that our class competes in the 40 book club throughout 5th grade. My hope is that they enjoy reading so much that they will become lifelong readers.

Writing - Students are working on their PSA project.   

Science -  We are working on Unit 3 which focuses on plants, food chains.  

Social Studies -    Students are learning about WWI.
