For safety reasons, all students and staff members are required to wear a school ID badge.
IDs are checked upon entrance in the building and entering each class.
Students are required to wear their ID badge whenever they are on campus, on a field trip, or school function.
Students are provided one ID and one lanyard free of charge at the beginning of the school year.
Students may use a lanyard other than what is provided by Eastside as long as it is break-away. Words or markings on lanyards must not be in violation of school disciplinary policies.
It is expected that IDs must be on a break-away lanyard, the lanyard must be worn around the neck and IDs must be visible at all times.
Student pictures and names must be visible on both sides. ID’s are not permitted to be in a badge holder that only shows one side of the ID.
IDs are not permitted to be tied to a backpack. They must be worn around the neck whenever students are on campus, on a field trip, or school function.
Students without an ID must purchase a new ID before school in the Media Center.
Lost, stolen, mutilated, or defaced ID badges must be replaced at the student’s expense.
The replacement cost for a lost ID is $5. The replacement cost for a lanyard is $1.
If a student does not have an ID and if they do not have the $5 to replace the ID, they are allowed to charge to their debt list.
It is not the school’s responsibility to notify parents each time a student has to buy or add $5 to their debt in order to purchase a new ID. The school will send debt notifications via email or with each report card.
IDs will be collected at the end of the school year.
Eastside High School reserves the right to amend, delete, or add to this policy during the course of the school year.
