I graduated from Furman University with a B.A. in History, as well as a Masters of Liberal Arts degree in History from Converse College. I have loved working in Greenville County Schools for the past 20 years. This is my 21st year of teaching, I have worked at Hughes Academy for the past 15 years. I am really looking forward to the year! I have taught 6th, 7th and 8th for several years but I am really enjoying my current spot in 8th grade. I couldn’t be happier to work in this community with middle school students.

Outside of teaching, I am a classical violinist and avid reader. I love sewing, crafting, and camping. We have an RV and hope to get back to travelling soon, but we took on a house renovation for the past few years that has kept us very busy! My husband is a University of South Carolina graduate and forever fan and we are kept on our toes as we chase after our son that is in Elementary school, and our baby girl! I love cats and dogs, but we are pet-less for the first time in a long while.

I believe that a classroom is a place to experience learning. Participation and attendance are essential for understanding. Great learning comes from seeing, hearing, and doing.
