Students will be allowed to dress out.
We encourage students to wear PE appropriate clothing on the days you have PE. You must still abide by the school dress code.
PE class WILL BE OUTSIDE as much as possible.
Dress appropriately (consider the temperature and shoes) for outside activities unless weather does not permit.
Participation- 100% participation is expected during class.
Enthusiastic Attitude- Be willing to try ALL activities to the best of your ability. Students are expected to exhibit sportsmanship in all activities.
Follow Instructions- Listen to all instructions given by any teacher. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action. (Discipline Points).
Bring a note from a parent/guardian if you’re too sick/injured to participate (Max 2 days). Bring a note from the DOCTOR if you have an injury or illness that will last more than 2 days.
Please provide Coach Nesmith, Coach Lyons, and Coach Sexton with a copy of any medical information that would affect your performance in or create a medical emergency in class.
Valuables are to be secured in your bookbag or Coach’s office, if necessary, at all times. PE lockers will be assigned for 8th graders and WMS athletes only.
Grading will consist of: 50% Minor Assessments (participation and other daily assessments), 50% Major Assessments (standards-based assessments to include skill/performance tests, fitnessgram test, and written tests.)
Units we will cover: FitnessGram Testing, Comprehensive Health & Sexual Education, Invasion, Net/Wall, Target, Cooperation, chasing and fleeing, health and fitness, striking and fielding.
