LIFE FITNESS CLASS Instructor: Sayre Nesmith
Overview: Life Fitness Class is an introductory course into the world of physical performance. This class is designed for athletes to provide them with the tools needed to be successful on and off the playing surface. Students in this class will learn the fundamentals of weight training, in addition to speed and agility, and running technique.
Students must dress out. In addition, all students must wear appropriate shoes. Crocs and Hey Dudes are not acceptable.
Life Fitness class WILL BE OUTSIDE approximately twice a week.
Dress appropriately (consider the temperature and shoes) for outside activities unless weather does not permit.
Participation- 100% participation is expected during class.
Enthusiastic Attitude- Be willing to try ALL activities to the best of your ability. Students are expected to exhibit high character in all activities.
Follow Instructions- Listen to all instructions given by the teacher. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action. (Discipline Points).
Bring a note from a parent/guardian if you’re too sick/injured to participate (Max 2 days). Bring a note from the DOCTOR if you have an injury or illness that will last more than 2 days.
You can and will workout on game days.
Please provide Coach Nemsith with a copy of any medical information that would affect your performance in or create a medical emergency in class.
Valuables are to be secured in your bookbag or Coach’s office, if necessary, at all times. PE lockers will be available upon requesta.
Grading will consist of: 50% Minor Assessments (participation and other daily assessments), 50% Major Assessments (standards-based assessments to include skill/performance tests, fitnessgram test, and written tests.)
Units we will cover: FitnessGram Testing, Comprehensive Health & Sexual Education, Plyometrics, Speed and Agility, Strength Training including Olympic Lifts.
