With this program, families can:

  • View their student's information including demographics, attendance, classes, grades, lunch balances, and test scores

  • Receive alerts and notifications regarding their students

  • View their student's school and contact information

  • Manage parent and contact information for their students

Our Classroom Essential Agreements

The students are to abide by the Pelham Road Elementary School-Wide Rules, which were sent home in a school calendar, and our classroom rules. The classroom rules are posted in the classroom. The students come up with these rules themselves, with my guidance. The rules are: 1) Be Kind, 2) Be Safe and 3) Work Hard. I have high expectations of my students to abide by these rules daily.

Classroom Management

In our Kindergarten classroom, we focus on positive behavior choices. We will be using punch cards this year, where students earn hole punches for positive behavior. Students will earn rewards based on their positive behavior observed in the classroom. If needed, students will be given "think time" to reflect on his or her behavior.

Our behavior system will help your children learn positive behaviors in our classroom. Our goal is for students to be able to reflect on their behavior choices, become knowledgeable on how to be responsible citizens and make good choices consistently.

Procedures for Non-Instructional Routines

The following is a list of our daily routines that all of my students are expected to follow during each school day:

*In the morning, students come in and put their things away before going to their seats. After they sit down, they start their morning work. While the students are doing their morning work, I call the role.

*Students do not talk during the morning or afternoon announcements so that they can hear information that they need to know.

*If a student's pencil breaks, he or she can get a new one from the "Ready to Write" bucket. He or she is expected to put the broken pencil in the "unsharpened" pencil bucket. The teachers take care of sharpening the pencils.

*Students may only use the restroom when I am not in the front or the back of the room teaching. This is so that children or I do not get distracted when I am teaching a lesson. Students may use the restroom in an emergency any time of the day.

*Students may get water from the water fountain when we return to the classroom from recess or during non-instructional times of the school day.

*Students are to walk in the hallway with their hands behind their back, or by their side and remain silent. They are also expected to walk in a straight line down the hall.

*In case of a fire drill or fire, students are expected to line up at the door immediately and quietly and exit the classroom with my instruction. There is a class roster next to the door for the occurrence of this type of event.

*When the students are in line to go somewhere, the line leader will lead the line.

*Student folders, with the behavior chart, will go home each day. Students are expected to have this signed by their parent and returned to school daily. Newsletters and homework sheets are sent home on Mondays.

*Students are not to get out of their seats to ask the teacher questions. They are expected to raise their hand at their desk and wait for the teacher to call on them.
