I am a highly qualified teacher with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Coastal Carolina University and a Masters Degree in Physical Education from Emporia State University. I also have my National Board certification in Early Childhood Physical Education and I am in my twenty-fourth year of teaching physical education at Westcliffe Elementary. This is also my fifth year teaching physical education at Lake Forest Elementary with Coach Gooding.
As you can probably tell from my picture I am a huge Packers fan. My favorite sports are Football and Basketball but I love almost anything competitive. My wife teaches English and Freshman Success classes at Easley High school and I have three wonderful children. My daughter is nineteen and a sophomore in college and my two sons are seventeen and fourteen years old. My family and I love to travel in the summers and have seen many national landmarks. Some of my favorite are out west including Yellowstone National park and the "mighty five" national parks. We have two dogs. They are both black lab mixes. One is named Roxy and the other is Scout.
My schedule takes me to two different elementary schools throughout the week. On Mondays and Tuesdays I travel to Lake Forest Elementary school as part of their second related arts team. On Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays I am home based at Westcliffe Elementary School.
My philosophy includes the belief that every student can enrich their lives through movement and exercise. I believe that each student has the ability to learn and try new activities daily. By making exercise fun and promoting competence in skill movements, each student will be more likely to become involved in physical activities and remain healthy throughout their life.
In addition to teaching physical education I am also Westcliffe's School Safety Patrol Leader.
