The art room is a place for learning. We work with many types of materials and people. In the classroom, we must make sure to treat ourselves, others, and our materials with respect at all times. 

• Respecting Yourself: As artists, we will make mistakes and maybe create a few pieces that we are not super proud to call our own. However, we can use this as a challenge to get better and approach the next project with greater insight. Respecting yourself means that you will not put yourself down for your mistakes but pick yourself up and keep trying! You got this!

• Respecting Others: In life we will run into many different people. But, we want to make sure that the art room remains a safe, exciting, and enjoyable place for everyone that it welcomes daily. Respecting others is a critical part of our classroom environment! 

• Respecting Materials: We will deal with many different types of materials in the classroom. In order for us to keep using the materials, we must take care of them. Before we use a material, we will learn how to properly use and take care of it. Every student is responsible for themselves and cleaning up their area properly. If one student does not clean up their area properly it could end up damaging another student’s work or even their own. Keep our classroom clean!
