Physical Education Teacher

Southside High School

I am entering my 20th year as a high school educator, having taught a variety of subjects in both South Carolina and California. During my career, I have taught social studies, health, physical education, psychology, child development, and career and technical education courses. Over the past several years, my primary focus has been teaching Physical Education and helping students develop the knowledge, skills, and habits necessary to lead healthy, active lives.

I currently teach Physical Education at Southside High School, where I strive to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to challenge themselves, work collaboratively, and build lifelong wellness habits. My goal is for every student to leave class with greater confidence, improved physical literacy, and an appreciation for the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

I hold a Master of Human Resource Development with an emphasis in Athletic Leadership, a South Carolina Professional Teaching Certificate, and a California Single Subject Teaching Credential. Throughout my career, I have earned additional certifications and endorsements in Physical Education, Social Studies, English Learner instruction, Gifted and Talented Education, Career and Technical Education, AP U.S. History, Read to Succeed, and educational technology.

Teaching has always been about building meaningful relationships with students while creating engaging learning experiences that promote growth both inside and outside the classroom. I look forward to continuing to serve the students and families of Southside High School and helping every student achieve success.
