I am so excited that you chose to take my course and learn more about a subject I love! This will be a rigorous, but very enjoyable class. By the time you leave this class, I hope to have expanded your knowledge and respect for the health field. Not only will we learn about body systems and direct health science topics, but we will also include topics that can be used in daily life, no matter what career you choose. I am here to help and want you to succeed!
I have been a registered nurse for many years. My background is in trauma, pediatrics, and epidemiology. Before that, I owned a telecommunications company. I moved here six years ago from Florida, and this will be my seventh year teaching at Blue Ridge. I adore our student community and am beyond excited to teach you about the healthcare industry!
I have two beautiful daughters. One is a psychologist, and she is getting married in September. My other daughter is an aspiring home-baker. I got married two years ago and am the proud stepmother of two wonderful boys. My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family (and my different streaming services). Also, I have become quite the cat lady as I have gotten older.
My goal is to grow the Health Science program and start a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program here at Blue Ridge High. If you choose that route, you will have the opportunity to go directly into the workforce, and/or you can to financially support yourself while you attend college/university. I value student input! Please give me feedback and ideas to make the program successful!
