Check-out

Kindergarten & 1st Grade Check-out 

Students are allowed to check out one book at the time. Books are checked out for a two week period. Kindergarten books are not allowed to go home with the students. 

2nd Grade through 5th Grade Check-out 

Students are allowed to check out two books at a time. Books are checked out for a two week period. Students may have one renewal if they have not completed their book when it is due. 

Overdue, Lost, & Damaged Books

Overdue & Lost Books 

When a student has an overdue or lost book they are not allowed to check out any more books until the book is returned or paid for. This includes overdue and lost books from other schools as well. There will be no fines for overdue books that are returned in good condition.

Damaged & Lost Book Fees 

The student will be fined for the full replacement cost of any lost books. Damage fees vary according to the extent of the damage to the book. Fines for damages can range up to the replacement cost of the book if the book can no longer be circulated. Students will not be able to check out any books until fines are paid. 

Lost Books & Fines From Other GCS Schools

Students will not be able to check out any books if they have fines or books owed to another Greenville County School. We do not have the ability to update any fines for other schools. All fines owed to another school must be paid at the school where the fine is owed. We are also unable to send payments to the other school for you.
