Standards

In 2019, the International Astronomical Union (IAU) released a document titled "Big Ideas in Astronomy: A Proposed Definition of Astronomy Literacy" aimed at creating a clear definition on what it means to be literate in astronomy. The document focuses on 11 big ideas that cover astronomy as a whole, with sub ideas in each area to further clarify it. It covers topics from Earth to the edge of the cosmos and from the dawn of time to the end of the universe.
