Instrumental Ensembles

Instrumental Ensembles are currently suspended.

Steel Drum and Recorder Ensembles

For several years, several students practiced after school for several weeks, learning to perform multi-part compositions. In the spring of 2017, Ms. Kaitlyn Stevenson offered an after-school steel drum club. (Ms. Stevenson is our traveling music teacher.) Both groups performed for PTA along with our B.E. Chorus. What a great night of music was performed!

Instrumental ensemble opportunities vary from year to year, depending on teacher schedules and that year's calendar of events. Students will be informed of possible instrumental ensembles as they become available.

Piano Classes

Mrs. Sarah Miller, a retired Bryson Elementary music teacher, returned again this year to offer after school for piano classes. Her Fall and Winter classes include twelve fourth and fifth grade students.

These classes are fundraisers for our music program. Past piano classes allowed us to purchase four new Yamaha keyboards, tuned drums for the kindergarten playground and a Melody instrument for the larger playgrounds . This year, piano class contributions are going toward the purchase of two more musical instruments, one for the first & second grade playground and one for the third through fifth grade playgrounds. (See the grant page for photos and details about our instrument purchase.)

THANK YOU, MRS. MILLER

FOR INVESTING IN OUR STUDENT MUSICIANS!
