Welcome! My name is Roxana Graciela Ortiz, the Clinical Mental Health Counselor at Berea High School.
I received my Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and an Education Specialization Degree from Clemson University in May 2025. I am currently on my path towards being fully licensed as a professional counselor. I have a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate (LPC-A), which allows me to practice under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S).
I have experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, adjustment disorder, and suicidality. My approach is strengths-based, person-centered, and grounded in the idea of helping students and families improve in overall functioning. My education lies within Strengths-Based interventions, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused interventions, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am also a clinician who is Bilingual in Spanish and English. I aim to be a resource that all students and families can access.
