THEATRE 2-5

THEATRE 2-5 is an advanced class where students explore the theatrical art form in greater depth. The basic outline of the year will include:

• Creation and performance of plays for local elementary or middle schools schools.

• Performance of class-generated play titled MOVE for District Theatre Festival.

• An Evening of One-act Plays performances.

• In-class workshop with guest artists TBD

• A field trip TBD.

• LOTS OF OTHER FUN STUFF!

HONORS 3-5 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Students in THEATRE 3 and 4 receive honors credit, and therefore EACH QUARTER must complete:

• The reading of a play from an approved list and a project based on the play.

• 10 hours of theater work either at Mauldin or in community theatre per quarter.

MATERIALS

Students should bring their charged Chromebooks to class every day. If students prefer using traditional pen and paper, they are welcome to do so, though assignments will be communicated and must be submitted digitally.
