I have been a Special Educator for 42 years. I can’t believe that this is year 43 for me! I taught for 17 ½ years in Crawfordsville, IN. I have been a teacher with the Greenville County School District for 25 years. The last 24 have been at Bethel Elementary.

I have taught Special Education for my entire educational career. My experience has been with various disabilities. From intellectual disabilities to physical disabilities to learning disabled to visually impaired to children with autism ~ I have done it all! I love working with children with special needs.

I was Bethel's "Teacher of the Year" for the 2000-01 school year. What an honor! I also was WYFF's "Golden Apple" award winner in 1999. For the 2004-05 school year, I was nominated for the South Carolina Special Educator of the Year.

Personal Info: I have an amazing daughter, Lexie, who graduated from Hillcrest High. She is currently at Clemson and going into education, so I am excited for her. We have a wonderful rescue dog, Rav.  I cherish any free time that I might have, so I love to read, binge watch Netflix, travel with my girl, catch up with life long friends, take pictures, and write. I’m planning on writing a book about my years in teaching!
