Welcome to the 2025 - 2026 school year. I look forward to working with all of you to help each student reach their full potential.
School Mission Statement:
The mission of Mauldin Middle School is to prepare all students to succeed in becoming lifelong learners and responsible community members.
The vision of Mauldin Middle School is to develop well-rounded learners in a collaborative community including families and neighboring contributors. We will foster lifelong learners who are responsible, productive citizens by encouraging involvement, growth and reflection through student-centered learning.
News: We have completed our beginning-of-the-year Reading MAP assessment and all students have been placed in the program at their proper level. Copies of the testing results were passed out to students to take home. Goals for improvement are set and we test again in December to check Reading progress. Until then, we will be working hard each day in the Read 180 program.
Reading Intervention, or "Literacy Lab" uses the Read 180 reading program. It is an excellent reading program for students who test below their grade level. Students can make a lot of growth if they work hard. The goal for all students is to improve their MAP RIT scores by their "Expected Growth," (which is one year's reading growth, or 4-7 RIT points). We will be taking the MAP test to determine Lexile level three times a year (Beginning, Middle, and End of Year). If a student meets their yearly goal by increasing their MAP RIT score they will be invited to an end-of-year celebration (Pizza Party). Students are able to work from home in the case of an absence, or eLearning days. Please see Google Classroom for student assignments when eLearning from home.
