Congratulations to the 2018-2019 Monarch Safety Patrols!!

We are looking forward to a great year of leadership, demonstrating safety, and helping our fellow students!

Patrols will help open car doors in the morning and walk our K4 and K5 students to their cars in the afternoon come rain, shine, heat, or snow!!

Throughout the school year, we will have several Patrol Game days in the gym!

At the end of the year we always celebrate with a patrol field trip full of games, food, and laughs!

After Winter Break, 4th grade students are given the opportunity to apply to be a Safety Patrol. He/She must:

1. Fill out an application.
2. Turn the application into his/her teacher or directly to Mrs. Bowman by the deadline.
3. Be evaluated by the classroom teacher and a team of teachers. Students are evaluated based on: Trustworthiness, Respect, Being on time to school, Attendance, and Grades.
4. (If selected) Each safety patrol must fill out the Patrol Information Form on-line and attend Safety Patrols Boot Camp near the end of the school year.
5. Sign a safety patrol contract stating that he/she is aware of the rules and will follow them. Parents must also sign a Parent Contract agreeing to be on time for safety patrol drop-off and pick-up.
6. During his/her 5th grade year, each patrol must follow the rules and standards of Monarch Safety Patrols. These rules include being respectful to others, self, and property. Consequences for breaking the rules are: 1) warning and removal of patrol from duty that day;, 2) 2nd warning and removal for one week of duty; 3) 3rd warning and suspension from safety patrol.
7. Keep an overall grade average of a C or above.
8. Have a desire to keep our students safe, be an excellent role model, and make Monarch a better place!
