About Me

I want to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself. I have been involved in the school system for many years as a parent, volunteer, and substitute teacher. Once my son reached middle school age, I decided that I would go back to school to get my teaching degree. I graduated from Greenville Technical College in May 2002 with an Associate of Science Honors Degree. I graduated from University of South Carolina Upstate in December 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Middle Grades Math and Science concentrations. In addition, I graduated from Jones International University in August 2011 with a Master of Education Degree in Instructional Technology K-12. I began my teaching career 15 1/2 years ago at League Academy where I taught 6th grade science, 8th grade math, algebra, geometry, newspaper, TV/video production, and computer technology. At Fisher, I have taught Journalism, Broadcast Journalism, Career Education, and Computer Technology. This year, I am excited to continue to teach Broadcast Journalism and Yearbook!

I have been married to my husband, Gordon, for 37 years this fall; we have two wonderful children, Heather and Sean. Both of our children are married now and we couldn't be more excited to have their spouses, William and Meredith, as one of our family members. In addition, our daughter has blessed us with three grandchildren, Parker, Riley, and Paige. My son and his wife have blessed us with a grandson, Finnigan (Finn). I enjoy spending time at our cabin in the mountains, drawing, painting, sewing, home remodeling, and anything to do with technology. I look forward to working with you and your child this school year.
