Welcome to Mrs. O'Malley's Website for Broadcast Journalism and Yearbook. This year will be an exciting year in my classes at Phinnize J. Fisher Middle School! Broadcast journalism students will learn reporting, writing, and video production stages as they create recorded and live news broadcasts. Yearbook students will learn everything about creating a school yearbook.

This year 6th grade students and new 7th and 8th grade students will be learning the basics of broadcast journalism and video production. Returning 7th and 8th Grade broadcast students will use previously learned broadcast journalism concepts to increase their skills while creating daily news programs and feature story packages. All 6th, 7th, and 8th grade broadcast journalism will work with WeVideo to create news broadcasts and feature stories.

This year 8th grade yearbook students will learn about photography and design. In addition, students will improve their writing skills as they learn how to write copy and detailed captions that will help capture the essence of our school this year through the publication of the 20-21 yearbook.

Please note: sometimes I am running a minute or two behind for transition purposes. Keep trying. I use this and my daily attendance question to check attendance each day. In addition, I use this time to review expectations, clarify information, and answer questions.
