About Mrs. Thompson

Hello! My name is Celeste Thompson and I am excited to begin my 9th year of teaching and my 4th year as Band Director at Northwest Middle School!

When I joined band in the 6th grade, the band room quickly became a second home to me and the people I met in the band room became like my family! Many of my most valuable life lessons, experiences, & cherished memories have been gained from my time in middle school, high school, and college band programs. I hope the Northwest band room and band family can provide the same valuable experiences to my students!

I am originally from Aiken, South Carolina. I attended college at the University of South Carolina in Columbia where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Music Education. After I began teaching, I spent 3 summers in Tallahassee, Florida, where I earned my Master’s degree in Music Education from Florida State University. Go Gamecocks and Go Seminoles!

Outside of band, I enjoy reading books, taking walks with my chocolate lab, Oakley, going to the beach or lake, and spending time with my family and friends!

I look forward to a great school year at Northwest Middle School!
