Extra Credit Assignments per Quarter

1st Quarter:

5 points Towards Major Assignment:

Choose any article about waves OR energy. Below are a list of 4 suggested websites with great information. Write a three paragraph report about the content. There should be at least 3-5 sentences per paragraph.

Your report must include:

Your Name, Teacher Name, Class Period
Title, underlined
Image representing your article
Paragraph 1: IN YOUR OWN WORDS, explain what was the content about?
Paragraph 2: What did you know about the topic before you read or listened to the content? What new information did you learn?
Paragraph 3: What could be done differently to improve the experiment/study/research that you learned about? What would you do next if you wanted to research the topic further?

Make sure to include a link to what you read or listened to, or the name of the author and book title/magazine article at the end of your report. A printed copy of your article must be attached to your report.

2nd Quarter

10 Points toward a Major Assignment:

Create a video demonstrating an experiment students can do at home (check with me about the topic before you begin working on it!!). In order to earn the full 10 points on your video presentation, you must :

Introduce yourself and the experiment you are demonstrating
State the following steps of the scientific method as it applies to your experiment:
- - - Question
    - What you are testing for
    - hypothesis
    - materials
    - demonstration of experiment along with instructions as you do the experiment
    - explain what you found out

Videos will be posted to the science website.
